Armenian Demonstration in Sao Paulo
On Wednesday, September 30, a demonstration was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in rejection of the attack by Azerbaijan and Turkey against Artsakh and Armenia.
The protest, called by Clube Armenio Sama, the Armenian National Committee of Brazil, the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) of Brazil, was held in front of the building of the Federation of Industries of Sao Paulo, which annually pays tribute to the independence of Armenia by projecting the tricolor flag of Armenia.
"This year, unfortunately, the tribute coincided with the Azerbaijani attack on Artsakh," explained the organizers. "The Armenian entities have decided to demonstrate and call for the end of the attacks in the same place and thus draw the attention of Brazilian society."
The demonstration was held "with great care due to the use of masks and social distancing", as expressed by the community leadership. "With the presence of many members of the community, including young people and adults, support for Artsakh and Armenia was demonstrated with the solidarity of the general population."
